The mediterranean diet: a delicious path to health and longevity

In recent years, the Mediterranean diet has gained considerable attention for its numerous health benefits and its reputation as a sustainable and enjoyable way of eating. This diet is inspired by the traditional eating habits of people living in countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea, such as Greece, Italy, Spain, and Morocco. With its emphasis on fresh, whole foods and an abundance of vibrant flavors, the Mediterranean diet has become a beacon of good health and longevity. The ultimate downfall of most restrictive “diets” like the Keto and Atkins diets f.ex, is their failure to provide a sustainable lifestyle change. The very nature of their restrictions makes it difficult to adhere to in the long term. I have separate reviews of both.

It has also been shown to boost brain functions, improving memory,  thinking, and understanding. It may even reduce the chance of Alzheimer’s. 

Olive oil is used as a primary source of fat in cooking and as a dressing for salads, adding a delightful flavor and a touch of richness to meals. Add a little balsamic vinegar to a small dish of olive oil and you have the perfect dip for your bread. So so tasty.

However, it’s important to note that the Mediterranean diet typically limits the consumption of red meat and processed foods, opting for lean sources of protein like poultry and legumes instead.
